Kid Cudi's 2009 debut was a Top Five hit, but the MC says there was a downside to success: constant paranoia and a nasty cocaine habit. "This album is me closing that chapter," he says. "I'm moving on in a positive light." The rapper cut most of his second LP in Hawaii, at the same studios that mentor Kanye West was using. "We'd meet up and talk about what we created," says Cudi. "It was magic."
